This is an interesting thread, and the original question ALWAYS comes up in tgirl forums. It's all to do with how you see yourself, not whether you're "gay" or not. (Also, the definition of "gay" becomes so personal in discussions like this that it comes to a point where it doesn't even matter). Some people will say, there's a cock attached to that person, so it's male regardless of any other physical, emotional, or mental characteristics of said person.
