This is an extract from The teachings of Don Juan, by Carlos Castaneda. Don Juan is referring to Peyote buttons (seeds?) by Mescalito. By ingesting 4 to 5 peyote buttons Carlos hallucinates and sees a deity called Mescalito, who advices him about how he should lead his life. Carlos also sees Prana as threads of light.
