Imagine if you will a small group of friends in college. They have just done something hilarious that would bring them trouble. Imagine then that someone with the power to hold them accountable is approaching and in the great tradition of cartoons and comedies they let the person responsible for most of what they did know, in hilarious fashion, that they have other things to, errands to run. They then disappear in a flash, you are shown a closeup of the person responsible gulping down hard and giant hands clasping upon his shoulders. Hilarity ensues.

Imagine if you will you are part of an online "community." Someone does something inappropriate that would bring him trouble. Imagine then that you are no less "powerful" to hold him accountable than the moderator who is not immediately approaching. And, in the great tradition of those who stand up for others, you decide to set the person who did something inappropriate straight, and strike a blow for all the beautiful transwomen who are marginalized when someone ungenders them. Heroics ensue.

Sorry. I had a sitcom running through my head as I made up my first post here. Probably had something to do with my having watched several episodes of that great university comedy "Community." I had the funnies in me head. I wasn't chastising him without taking personal responsibility.

For the record, I *am* a lesbian, not a "lesbian" as if it's a less valid use of the term. And I'm as much a "real" girl as my girlfriend.

And the OP will never see all the dirty, kinky stuff we get up to in the bedroom. What a shame.

Thanks, Amy. I was so busy dealing with the language in the first post that I missed those quotation marks in the thread title, which are just as offensive. As you can see, I've corrected that. Soon I will close this thread, since the OP doesn't seem to want to respond to his warning about the UNGENDERING language.

longhairlover - I don't think you intended anything mean or to make the trans women who post here feel unwelcome. I hope the point was not to "correct" you, as you are not a child who spoke out of turn.

I hope the point was to let you know that women like me are just as "real" in our womanhood as our mothers/sisters/friends. That our sexualities are just as valid as any straight, bi, or.. even.. lesbian woman's sexuality.

Posts about UNGENDERING language are for the entire Forum as much as for any individual, as a reminder. It's our little contribution to making such language disappear (we can hope, right?).
