Are shemales more sexualized than either their male or female counterparts?

We have been down this road before, quite recently, and I would advise members to be careful bout writing things like this. Helios, do you really want to let stand this statement, which implies that all shemales are prostitutes? I wonder what some of our tgurl members would have to say about that. I believe that most of us are on this forum because we perceive tgirls as being more sexual than than ggirls. Yes, it is a fantasy, but a very powerful one. Just look at the thousands of shemale and ladyboy sites on the internet. Many men and possibly lots of women seem to be very interested in the transsexual (shemale) image.
However, the reality of the transsexual, as Jodie has often pointed out, is a far cry from what is presented on the internet.

For a start there are different stages of being TG, and of course different people have different sex drives irrespective of gender.

Some TG's may appear more sexually driven in comparison to a genetic girl because they still have all those male hormones driving them on.

Those who go onto transition may well lose that, if indeed they were so driven in the first place.

I know many TG's who just are not interested in sex .... many are, and remain sexually attracted to women .... and just like many men .... TG's are often looking for a relationship and not just sex.

It sometimes works the other way around .... some TG's may not be interested in sex until they transition ... they may feel at odds with their bodies and as such sex may not feel right.

How TG's are portrayed on the internet is more often than not as a sexual fetish ..... Shemales/Ladyboys/transvestites ..... which means they are perceived by guys as a sexual image ....

Of course women are seen this way too .... However, men relate to women from a very early stage as they are in contact with them and surrounded by them from Birth. TG's are not so commonplace .... and often first contact with them is via the internet and as part of a sexual attraction.

I have a paysite ..... so it would be hypocritical of me to condemn that .....

However, it is not to say that men and women to be fair .... who first see TG's as a sexual entity can't, through forums such as these, learn that they are people and start to see them as such .... so it's not all negative.

Also for TG's, as they have been male by default they know what men may like ..... and may seem less inhibited as such.

Or in other words ..... yes, no and maybe .... it depends entirely on the person .... just as it does for men and women.

I find it offensive. I myself have never provided sex for money. And only tried cam whoring once (didn't like it).

I just wish that more people who become attracted to trans people do more research about the full trans spectrum. Instead of going by what they find from sex sites.

As much as I am part of the problem, LOL, I probably shouldn't comment on this but I've never been one to shy away from intellectual debate.

It's one thing to say that Cis-folks (cis is the Latin opposite of trans for the unaware) should learn more about the broader depth of transexuality, but let's be fair here... there's a huge self loathing subculture of steath which permeates the trans community. Most sane, stable, attractive transwomen go into "stealth" mode, hiding in plain sight. It is rare you see such a person as a visible, outspoken advocate for the less sane, stable and attractive among us. As a result, it leaves sex workers (be it prostitues, escorts, webcam girls, porn stars) as the most visible among us. Personally I decided that since I faced a world that hated and feared us and for some dumb reason I didn't end up with cool mutant powers, I might as well do something fun.

Which brings us back to the OP's question.

It truly does vary from trans person to trans person. I've known some with zero sex drive and others where their engine is so reved up its like watching a Nascar Race. The sexually active likely seems more visible: 1) For the reason I mentioned above; 2) the kind of public places where trans people tend to be out and open and admirers can easily locate us are often tied to sexuality (let's face it: cubs/ bars/ etc are aimed at finding either Mr/ Mrs Right / Right Now); 3) By virtue of dealing with all the baggage related to gender, TS's often also have to delve into the unrelated but sadly entangled, realms of sexuality. Leaving them often far more open and aware of their own sexuality.

My two cents. In all honesty, I know very little in life so feel free to shout me down .

Thank you so much for chiming in, Wendy. I think you provide a much-needed perspective. Personally, I work hard to "learn more about the broader depth of transexuality" and am very proud to count among some of my closest friends trans people with whom I have no sexual connection whatsoever.
