We all have different ideas about different things, so, what is your 'definition' of the people catagories in the thread title?
Here are mine :

CD - aka 'hairy panty wanker', a guy that gets off, sexually, from dressing in female attire, predominantly lingerie, often 'borrowed' from his female partner and to whom, personal appearance is secondary and with limited desires to look and/or feel feminine.

Transvestite - A CD with make up who's 'dressing' is not always sexually orientated. I feel that transvestites are the most competitive of these 'flexible gender' types and their need to look and feel feminine is very important. I also find that transvestites are the most level headed of the group, the most sociable, and all have the ability to laugh at themselves. Fun is important to a transvestite.

Ladyboy - an asian transsexual, plain and simple.

Shemale - A transsexual 'in it for the money' whether that be via prostitution, modelling, or the porn movie industry.

TS - aka transsexual, a full time, m2f or f2m, that wishes to change gender or already has changed gender because they feel that they were born with the wrong physical attributes and wish to be the person they truly believe they are, often clinicaly diagnosed as such, and actively seeking medical help to achieve personal well being and stabilty, and I believe that sex is low on their list of priorities.

This may actually have a bit to do with culture, because I know some others from the UK who have made the same essential classifications. For me :

CD - Is generally a guy who fancies women's clothes. It's more of a release for an "inner woman". This could be full on wig to pumps or just specific articles that give him a thrill or a sense of calm. Generally CDs tend to go really super femmy in their clothes (tight skirts, lace, stockings).

TV - It's all about the sex. They get a sexual thrill from women's clothes. Particularly intimate wear. They sometimes have a fantasy where they are forged into feminization and then forced into sexual situations.

LadyBoy - Western sex industry term for an Asian trans* woman.

Shemale - Porn word for non-Asian Trans* woman. Lately some pre- or non- op gals have adopted this word without being in the sex industry.

TS/TG Your definition isn't bad, but I think there is emphasis on surgeries that isn't true for lots of gals beyond having their ID cards and whatnot match up.

Except for TVs sex isn't a compelling reason for any of the others to do what we do. The LBs and Shemales DO sex, but in many cases it's because it's good money and it's REALLY damn hard to get proper work. Lots of gals to sex work to pay for surgeries/ survive until after surgeries and then blend into real life.
