It's because you paid to watch a CLIP versus paying to SEE HER perform live.

Every so often, for promotional purposes, cam hosts will record a session that happened with a guest OR they'll just record a short clip all on their own...one that is all-new...and then they'll throw it up on their profile page for customers to see. But cam hosts always charge MORE for a "video playback clip" versus if you had actually gone to see her, when she was online and performing.

The reason they do this? Because if you come and see them live, you will chat with them and that will run the clock -- so since they get paid by the minute, that means they stand a better chance of making more money. On the other hand, if you just want to go straight to the sex...if you just want to see what they'll do and just want to see a cum shot/climax...then the cam hosts get smart. They figure they'll charge you a few bucks more to watch a short clip and just see your happy ending.
