Chloe Anderson played volleyball for Santa Ana College and the University of California, Santa Cruz.

https://www.ocregister.com/2015/06/2...e-already-was/

There's another article on Chloe that goes into some of the hardships she encountered (including ignorant haters) while competing at UCSC. Playing any sport at that level is extremely difficult. Adding assholes to the mix doesn't help.

Chloe is a winner. She will be successful and make a difference in this world no matter what she does.

This post on Chloe should have stayed at the top of the front page. It's my fault for posting something stupid that moved it off. Wasn't thinking. Too bad we don't have the ability to delete old posts. I would get rid of many of mine.

Default "Straight Pride" March?

Many celebrities are coming out to oppose the planned "Straight Pride" march intended to be a response to the traditional "Gay Pride" events held in June. Here are a couple of the better responses:

Brad Pitt (Cant' believe he's 55! That means he was “Born Before 1985.” I’ve got an Esquire Magazine sitting on my desk right now with him on the cover. Motherfuckers, try telling him he looks like an “84 year old man” like in all the fake ads you promote for Home Refinancing, AARP, Stair Lifts, Viagra, or whatever. ).

Mr. Pitt requested that his name and picture be removed from all materials the group behind the misguided “Straight Pride” march were distributing to promote their event. The group had used his image without his permission. The actor made clear he does not support anything about the “Straight Pride” movement. Damn, I’m gonna watch Fight Club later.

Chris Evans also called out the group earlier this week on Twitter after three men in Boston promoted their own parade.

Evans, 37, tweeted: “Wow, the number gay/straight pride parade false equivalencies are disappointing. For those who don’t understand the difference, see below. Instead of going immediately to anger (which is actually just fear of what you don’t understand) take a moment to search for empathy and growth.”

Evans continued his condemnation towards “straight pride” events on Twitter by sharing a post from author James Bell about how misguided the gatherings are:

“There’s nothing I’ve ever had to fight for, or struggle against because I’m straight,” Bell wrote in the post Evans urged his followers to read. “And therefore, there isn’t any reason to take pride in it. Grateful for the privileges I get? Sure. But pride? I don’t see it. What I do see is that this parade is misnamed. It’s not a ‘Straight Pride Parade.’ It should be called a ‘I’m a homophobic piece of shit‘ parade.”

Don’t expect to see me marching in it. While I’m married and consider myself “straight” (what exactly is “straight” anyway?) my past relationships have included those with transwomen and I’m attracted to cute feminine guys. I’m sure the organizers of this event wouldn’t consider that “straight.”

I oppose this march for all of the reasons the others do. And what an insult to my LGBT friends!!! Maybe the organizers need to attend a Transgender Day of Remembrance and sit through a reading of all the victims of violence and details of what happened to them? There have been three transwomen brutally murdered in Texas just recently.

This is Transgender Awareness Week. November 20 is typically the Day of Remembrance. It has always been hard to find a ceremony in the Indianapolis area. The first TDOR I went to was way back in 2009. While there has been progress in public awareness and acceptance, I'm not sure things have gotten better over 10 years regarding violence and discrimination. At least in the United States, it may actually be worse for some...

I'll be having a get together at my house next Wednesday.

For those who are still interested, here is an article I found on CNN this morning. Featuring many who have made a difference. There is a lot to feel good about:

Rodrigo Alves, long known as the “Human Ken Doll,” has come out as transgender according a January 7, 2020 article by the "Washington Blade."

Alves has said she prefers the name "Roddy" and plans to undergo addtional surgery this year.

https://www.washingtonblade.com/2020...-out-as-trans/

From the "New York Post":

Quote:
“I’m known as Ken but inside I’ve always felt like Barbie,” said Alves. “I finally feel like the real me. Glamorous, beautiful and feminine.”

“For years I tried to live my life as a man. I had a fake six-pack put in, I had fake muscles in my arms, but I was lying to myself,” she says. “I’m a woman and have always had a feminine brain. Now my body matches my mind.”

She’s been enjoying the male attention her new female looks get her, and is excited to finish her transformation with gender reassignment surgery.

“I will have a penile inversion and my testicles will be removed. That will be the final step,” says the former flight attendant. “Before that I’m having silicone breast implants. I’ll be able to wear dresses that show my cleavage and look sexy. I’m very excited.”

Alves realized she wanted to transition during a photo shoot last year, she says, but she’s long been aware of certain feminine tendencies.

“Growing up, I was very feminine and used to play with dolls and wear my mum’s dresses and heels,” she says, adding that she had breasts as a kid, due to her body producing more estrogen than most males.

“Within a month I was diagnosed with gender dysmorphic disorder and given the option to start the *appropriate medication to transition,” she says. “Before, people looked at me because I looked very androgynous and weird for a man. Now I hope they are looking because they think I am a beautiful woman.”
Best wishes Roddy!
