Oh! thats BAD! 
I'm an hardware enthusiast and I know how angering is to lose all your weeks/years/month of work for a stupid error, corruption, thunderstorm etc! And obviously like Murphy's Law in this cases backups never work! -_- (lol I'm obsessed with backups i have like five 5 different backup copies for every PCs I own, and I own a lot of PCs/MACs.)
If i was in the UK right now, I would help you with your hardware problems in no time!
Well working on too many big things at once is a big problem I have too. But I think this gives us that fascinating, multifaceted, genius-like Leonardo DaVinci style Aura! At least we aren't boring!
