To posit that Hooters is an example of any "general place" when talking about an issue that involves the objectification of others is either delusional or deliberately provocative or just plain insipid. I believe that had you used a truly "general" place you would have gotten a much different response. But by choosing a place that is founded on the objectification of women and large breasts you set your own stage.

As for Hooters being a family place, I think the fact that families go there only reinforces my longstanding notion that the world would be a better place if people had to pass some sort of test before they could be parents. Any mother or father who takes children into a place like that should have her or his head examined. Hooters has tried to become a "family place" for burgers because its business model was failing, but if the old Playboy Clubs had set up childcare facilities inside while their dads were there to ogle Bunnies, would that have been a "family place"?
