If you were considering having sex with a Brit tonight: think again. A new poll of 2,000 British residents between the ages of 16 and 30 reveals some sketchy lapses with regards to intercourse education.

The poll, commissioned by the British Departments of Health and Children, Schools and Families, revealed the following tidbits of unsexy information:

-More than one in 10 British people don?t realize that a woman can get pregnant if she has sex standing up (in particular, 11 percent think standing sex is an effective method of contraception)

-19 percent are unaware that a woman can get pregnant during her period

-17 percent think that antibiotics can ward off herpes and genital warts

And, if you figured the lack of knowledge regarding contraception and sexual health could be mitigated by a really really good lay, you?re also wrong. More than a quarter of those polled are also ?too embarrassed? to ask questions they?d like to about sex and sexual performance.

Wow. Just wow. I was actually looking for some Brit on this forum to make a joke or two but damn. This all makes me think about the US; granted, I myself was not aware that women could get pregnant during their periods, not that I believed the contrary. Still, ignorance...
