There are some cultures where transsexuality is somewhat accepted but where homosexuality is still a major taboo. For example, you can be executed in Iran for being gay, but a male-to-female transsexual can be with a guy, so some gay guys get sex changes to avoid being killed. While that's definitely an extreme case, there are many cultures with similar feelings.

Western culture accepts gay people more than trannys, though, so once you're transsexual it's not more of a taboo to be a lesbian.

I know a lot of "lesbian" transsexuals, but when the facts come out, most of them are at least bisexual.

I always hear people say that most transsexuals in the US are lesbians, but I don't really see that.
