It's confirmed: the Bruins set an all-time NHL record this afternoon by scoring three short-handed goals in the same shift. (see post above)

My final Bruins-related post for today:

The Bruins sewed up a playoff spot with a victory today against the Hurricanes, 3-2. It's always nice to head to the playoffs by winning a game, rather than as the result of what other teams do.

After the game, the Bruins held their traditional ceremony of giving some fans the shirts off their backs. Literally. Some fans are selected randomly during the game and come unto the ice after the game. Each player is announced and takes off his stinky, sweaty hockey jersey and gives it to the fan. Injured players are there, too, and walk onto the ice in their business suits. Savard was last, off course, and was treated to a massive ovation.

On to the playoffs!
