It appears that this is the end result of the (dirty) hit from Ovechkin. The article is from tsn.ca.

REPORT: BLACKHAWKS' CAMPBELL OUT FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON

While Alex Ovechkin may well escape punishment for his latest marginal hit, the victim of the check may be done for the season.

ESPN.com is reporting that Chicago Blackhawks defenceman Brian Campbell may miss the remainder of the season due to a broken clavicle and ribs suffered when he was driven into the boards from behind by the Washington Capitals' superstar on Sunday.

Campbell remained on the ice for several minutes before being helped to the dressing room by trainers. Ovechkin received a five-minute boarding major and a game misconduct on the play.

While Blackhawks' head coach Joel Quenville did not confirm that Campbell's season was over, he did expect to be without his blueliner for an extended period of time.

"[Campbell] is going to be out for a bit," Quenville said following the game. "It was a tough hit, a dangerous hit."

Despite this being Ovechkin's third game misconduct this season, he will not be suspended because the penalties were not assessed for the same infraction. His last game misconduct was handed out for a knee-on-knee hit on Tim Gleason of the Carolina Hurricanes.

Also, he has been cleared for his last game misconduct for boarding because it was assessed more than 41 games ago.
Ovechkin defended his actions by stating he did not feel it was a dirty hit.

"It was not a hard hit," Ovechkin said. "I just wanted to push him. It's just a moment in the game. I don't think it has to be five minutes or something like that. I just felt bad."

Wow! Ovechkin didn't feel it was a dirty hit! Big surprise. I wonder how badly he has to hurt someone before he actually admits that he has been a dirty player before.

I can't stand Ovechkin. I would like to see him suspended for the next decade.

A dirty player like Ovechkin will never admit to being dirty, except perhaps to the Russian Orthodox priest who is giving him his last rites.

I hear the Philadelphia Flyers are thinking of trying to trade for him just so they can resurrect the Broad Street Bullies. (Sorry, Jen.)

Damn Bruins! Tim Thomas gives up 3 goals in the first period, continuing the crappy play that makes me wonder whether being picked for the U.S. Olympic Team somehow destroyed his season. But at least Bergeron is back, and scored late. That's a nice sign ... for the 2010-2011 season, I fear.

I thought that Boston had a chance to tie it up, since it looks like the Devils took their foot off the gas after the first period. I think the main problem for Thomas is that he is being played as the second-string goalie(Rask has been given the Lion's Share of starts lately(or at least that is how it seems to me), and with the long lay-off during the Olympic break due to riding the pine while Miller played, I am sure he is a little rusty.

Hey, shadows, do you get "rusty" when you "ride the pine" ?

Ovechkin got a total of 2 games for his hit. Lappierre gets 4 for a similar hit, and Ovechkin only gets 2? Nice job of parity, Colon Campbell(I call him that because his decisions are always full of SHIT!)!

The Devils may have taken an early 3-0 lead but they almost succeeded in throwing the game away. They just don't have that killer instinct.

At least Brodeur had a decent game: 34 saves and an assist.

Well my Maine Black Bears won in overtime in their third game of the first round of the playoffs against U. Mass Lowell. Next up is Boston University on the road.

I'll be rooting for Maine (I hate B.U.), but I fear that beating the Terriers is an uphill battle at best.
