Two words: Gun range. If they have never fired before, a .22 is always a great starter gun. It will not give them a wallop like a .45 or a 30-06 and is more enjoyable to shoot.
If she enjoys shooting, she's a keeper!

In my experience, the best first dates have been high on interacting and low on impressing. Like a good first date would be having some coffee and and conversation or taking a walk and window shopping.
The worst dates have been where we went on an expensive dinner and a show. The absolute #1 WORST date ever was going to a dance club - seriously, avoid that one - no chance to talk and "meat market" atmosphere don't lend well to a first date. Then again, my idea of a perfect date is ordering some delivery, watching a B-grade horror movie, playing some video games, and talking about comic books. Pretty lame huh?

BIONCA: Actually, you just taught me something. Thnx. I think this is a subliminal event, as well. The best dates involve the least in expectations from the recipient. There is less comfort for the recipient on the expensive date with regard to unspoken expectations. The meat-market date is the most uncomfortable for the recipient, because of the reputation of drinking, kissing, and desert at home. What say you? TAL BTW, what happened to Hank? He seems to be occupied with his love interest. You lame? The marine keeps coming back for something. |

She wouldn't get anything fancy and we would have a simple dinner. I would like to take her back to my place just to chill and play some mass effect.....but I don't know many women who like the xbox so I'm pretty sure I wouldn't get far by breaking out my level 30 renegade shepherd. I know a few spots around town that could be romantic and of probably take her there instead. Like maybe going up Charleston to overlook Vegas or something.
Yeah all of that is boring lol. |

It's all very well when a guy someone makes a great effort to impress a date ..... but does it show much about their character .... do you get to know them ....? Often such a date is purely trying to anticipate what the other person may be impressed by ...... and doesn't give an insight into what spending time with them would really be like. I so agree with you about Dance clubs .... not in the slightest bit conducive for conversation ..... a whole night spitting in each other's ears ....may as well stay in bed for that .... The purpose of this question is basically trying to find out what makes each other tick ..... so no, your answer is most definitely not "lame" ..... it shows what you are like ..... By the way .... would a grade A horror film just spoil the date for you Bionca? Kirsty xxx xxx |

![]() ![]() Planning the date like that means that there is less pressure on either person, and they would have more of a chance to be themselves(some people are a little more shy around large groups of people when they are first trying to get to know someone.). It can also be a more intimate date(and I don't mean sexual) with it just being the two of you around. A more relaxed person usually means a happier one, and the date could be loads of fun. ![]() Delivery, B-grade horror movie(Evil Dead, perhaps? ), video games, comic books! Holy hannah! I like all of those as well(quite a bit, actually ), and to me that really would be a perfect date.

We can date. ![]() Actually a coffee shop was my first date with T. He was a client then phoned up a fortnight later & suggested A costa coffee. Chatted for ages. Took him straight off my client list & onto my good friend list. Lots of Cappuccinos with him since... Last edited by JodieTs; 02-20-2010 at 10:21 AM. |

Bionca's idea of a date is awesome.
Throw in some Doctor Who convos and i'm there , did you know that the Doctor and Martha Jones have a small cameo in a Buffy the Vampire Slayer comic. |

My first date would depend on the personality she has. After all, you only ask someone out after chatting with them or knowing them a bit, at which point you work up the nerve to ask them out. But it also gives you a clue as to her personality and "what" would make her comfortable. And since I come from the old fashioned Cary Grant school of chivalry, I think a first date should center on showing your date a good time. As for me -- based on my personality -- I'd start off with something fun. So, we could do something low-key like meet for drinks in a QUIET pub, the kind of place that lets you kick back and talk for hours. Or we could play pool while snacking a bit, and then use that time to talk and get to know each other better. And hopefully in the midst of this, we'd find common ground for laughing about things, since I can't date anyone without a sense of humor. I just can't. Looks can always change or be altered, but personality is forever. But since I live in Los Angeles...for a first date...I'd probably by pass the pub thing and go for a bit more fun. Just to see how much fun she can be, too. So, I'd take her to the Santa Monica pier, which has rides and arcades and games, but also has the ocean right there which creates a nice, relaxing backdrop. Then, after spending some time strolling along and discovering my date DOES have a fun sense of humor, I'd like to shift to a lunch or dinner. I know some restaurants in that area which would be great, complete with a ocean view to again set a nice mood. After that, we could stroll along the boardwalk or take off our shoes and walk in the warm sand, maybe even holding hands by then in an innocent and friendly "date-like" way. Ideally, we would time things right, so we could then watch the sunset over the Pacific together. Then, we'd hop in the car and shift to Hollywood Boulevard, which comes alive in the evening with all sorts of shops lit up and fun places (like wacky mini-museums) to poke your head into. We could stroll along holding hands and window shop...laughing and learning more about each other as we point things out...maybe even pop into a pub here or there if we want to sit and talk. For a second date, I'd do something similar and fun, but upscale it a bit. This time I'd take her to Disneyland or Universal Studios or something like that, again to get out and be amongst people and to stroll along and eat here or there and just laugh and have fun by enjoying each other's company for a nice day out. Then for the third date, ideally it would be a home-based date, where we order in some pizza or chinese and kick back and challenge each other to video games or stay up late watching bad old Sci Fi movies and cracking on them and... HEY WAIT A MINUTE! My dates sound like the kind of evenings Bionca has in mind! ![]() Gee, too bad she's in a different part of the country. Otherwise I'd have to ask her out... ![]() ![]()

Well, on a lovely sunny day, I would invite her for a tour of my vineyard in the Napa valley California. We would hold hands as we walked down the rows of thick green vines loaded with lushious red grapes. I would pick a bunch and feed her grapes one by one. We would then return to the winery where I would show her the wine making process. In the wine cellar, I would tap into an aged barrel of wine and pour us fine glasses of Pinot Noir and we would sit out in the garden sipping our wine and I would encourage her to talk about her life.
