What's the word for this kind of thinking? Asinine! A woman was sitting at the park reading a book on a beautiful summer day. Suddenly, she heard a young boy scream. She looked up and saw a man carrying a toddler towards the wooded area at the park's edge. The boy was crying and saying he wanted his mommy. The woman quickly ran to the corner where there was a parked police car and informed the officer, who ran the would-be kidnapper down and rescued the boy. The mother who had been frantically looking for her wandering son was enormously grateful. The woman felt great as she walked home. But when she arrived home she realized that she had left her book on the park bench. It had her name and address written on the title page, but thank goodness no one bothered to return it to her, lest she get the wrong idea that there are circumstances under which your own possessions might not be as (or more) important than, say, the well-being of child. What's the word for this kind of thinking? Senseless! And I'm being nice in my choice of words. Merry Christmas to all, and thanks to DSL for an example of how the world would be if we didn't have pseudo-"social Darwinism" idiots to contend with. |

I don't want to drag this thread too far off-topic, but if the OP doesn't mind I could post a link to the news article so people can read how this girl's family can have a wonderful Christmas thanks to a few people. ![]() |
