You're spot on dude, I have had the same experience. I am 7.1 inches long, 5.5 inches thick, and every girl I have been with has said I am bigger than the majority, much, much bigger. Kinsey studied around 3.5 thousand white guys, probably Uni students. It's quite a large sample, as samples go, but hardly multicultural, i.e. doesn't account for the possibility of genuine ethnic/genetic size differences.
