i agree with you on the fact that they wont kill again fully. i just worry that if people get too used to the death penalty then we'll get people who will use that option at anything "he stole something frpom a store give him the death penalty so he won't commit the crime again" granted that seems a lil far fetched but its still a possibility. like wise with Sci-fi i was watching a masters of science fiction programme and one story came on where a man had killed two officers but for good reasons. he was defending himself from them and the judge in this story was an AI which just wanted to give him death right away without listening to his tesamony.

The Death Penalty is used for people who commit acts of murder and treason(generally) not as a punishment for lesser crimes. That is why the laws are set up so that the punishment must fit the crime. If you worry about the situation you described, that sounds more like a problem with the justice departments and legislature, in which case, I'd say get the hell out of Britain.

trust me at the moment i want nothign more than to move to either japan or australia. but what i was getting at wasn't britain with that possibility of death for any little reason it was everywhere that had the death penalty plus it was only a wild far off thought i had not something that'll 100% happen but it might and not sometime soon i had. heh i heard something a little while ago that goes along with the treason part. in britain apparently you can be placed under arrest for placing a stamp upside down on a letter. they say its an act of treason. Japan has a high suicide rate and Australia I hear is becoming just like Britain. But on the upside, in Australia, they have giant blue phosphorescent earthworms that emit enough light that you can use them to read a book or as a lantern. I say go with the freakish glowy earthworm thingies.
