Pre-Op or Post Op?

I prefer non-op.

Pre-op actually means they plan to have Sexual Reassignment Surgery.

Frankly, I think the terms non-op, pre-op and post-op are dated and classist and give the impression that transwoman are not complete until they have undertaken SRS.

The great majority of transwomen these days are, I believe, non-op, but the post-ops seem to carry more influence in activism, particularly in western activism.

I'm not sure of percentages, but pre-ops, who plan to have SRS, often don't feel comforatble with their penis during sex. I'd prefer to be with a transwoman who is comfortable.

SRS doesn't complete a transition, there cannot be complete transition to a female body, though it is a major step for some transwomen in developing an appearance and functionality that makes them happier with their bodies and sex lives.

In my humble opionion, a transwoman should simply refer to any male-2-female person that has a female gender identity and those with surgeries, or planned surgeries should add the prefix of operative or planned operative.

Refering to the majority of transwomen as non-op has a negative and condescending classist vibe about it.

While outdated now, in the past post ops refered to themselves as transsexuals while non-ops were considered mere transgenderists. Today, any transwoman who identifies themself as female is considered a transsexual, regardless of their operative situation or plans.

Unfortunately though, people will probably go on talking about pre-ops and post-ops, reinforcing outdated and classist perceptions.
