In Brazil the expression "Travesti" is common, the different one of the connotation of other countries. But, the expression enters many admirers T-Girl is very used, or T-Gata in Portuguese.

I think it's up to the girls to decide, not the guys. Your favourite word for black people might be n***r, but unless you were a racist or completely stupid, you would never address someone as such (unless perhaps you were black yourself and reclaiming the word). Think this is a stupid comparison? Some girls find "shemale" equally offensive, due to similar degrading connotations.

my girlfriend hates "shemale" and "ladyboy", but she likes "TS" or "T-girl" or often just "girl". I sometimes call her "tranny" for a joke, but she knows I have a twinkle in my eye when I say it.

By the way, "transsexual" has a double S.

I'd usually say Shemale and refer to Asians as Ladyboys. I think tranny sounds the hottest though.

If I'm talking about porn then I say shemale or t-girl. I use t-girl, transsexual or transgender in "real life".

There's a thin line between the ridculous and the sublime, I don't sweat much being called man, dude, or guy, I think most guys come here first to look at the pictures. Who knew there were rules? For me it's not about respect or clarity or truth, it's more about having my pants down around my ankles. Ridiculous and Sublime. I've had lots of derogatory nicknames, from my friends no less!!
On the practical side, I do stumble alot when it comes to choosing the correct term on this site. It would be nice to have a name that didn't offend anyone. There are other crossdressing sites that won't stand for any pornography or disrespect, this site here is wide open. Like a Comedy Roast.
