I like games like old school Unreal Tournament, Final Fantasy (the NES version), Neo Geo's Metal Slug series, and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. I recently started replaying Quake 2.

Actually, I lied. I have a few newer games that my coworker suggested. Spelunky and Super Meat Boy. They're both deadly platformers.

I've heard the music for Super Meat Boy is quite excellent.
