...If I were trying to do something that exposed a bit of my personality to a girl, (and was trying to avoid cliches), I can come up with a couple of ideas for first dates...
I definitely like the idea of going somewhere to hear live music---something I enjoy, not too noisy or smokey, (maybe outside), and I would pick a band that hopefully she would like too.
Another idea is taking her out to an "Art Walk" or something similar. This is where neighborhood art galleries, bars, etc. all have open houses and usually have music, wine, cheese, etc. Its nice to walk together and talk, people watch and see art--another interest.
Hiking/biking/walking in the park would be nice as I like doing all those things, and enjoy being outside, but they are also pretty good first date things to do
I might also invite her to go antiquing or junk-finding. I enjoy doing it, and its fun for most people. Perhaps have some coffee and pie somewhere, (or maybe a pint!)
Also, as I like to cook, I might invite a girl over for dinner and then we could watch a movie...(I love movies!)
I wouldn't want to push my interests on any girl, but any of these would show a little bit about what I like and who I am without being obvious.
