Before that my experience of sports stadia was the crumbling piles of sht we called football (soccer) grounds in England. When I first went to the old Wembley in 1982 I was so excited to be going to our National Stadium... what a fing dump. It was such a disappointment for this young sports fan.

I went to the old Wembley three times - two football matches and a gig - and it really was a disgrace. Although I'm not exactly ecstatic about Sky and some of what's happened to the game in the last twenty years or so, I have to admit the improvements in grounds, even in the lower leagues, is to be applauded.
