Why choose to be faceless?
I've just been pondering this.
Why do men (and some woman on here) choose to have faceless profiles? If these people care so much for the T community why not be open about their 'sexuality' or whatever you would like to label it? Whilst people hide behind closed doors no change is being made to the T community to brake down any stigmatism. If you were to be open about it you would clearly see that not that many people care; if they do, you should sack them off, they're clearly not worth knowing for being small minded bigots. Jus' my two cents worth for today, it was nice to theorise something which wasn't criminology. Alex |

Anyhow, in reply to the question, it's down to choice. There arent many ways in which to stay anonymous in this world any more. Furthermore, a face on a profile page isnt going to make a difference to my mind. Words speak stronger. |

Why be faceless?
I guess for most it's safer and in there best intrest to remain unseen
which is sad as this is 2011 not 1955 But sadly there are those who believe that beating up a cross dresser or a Tgirl is there God given right and also it's there God given right to beatup anyone who likes or heaven forbid actualy date one of us So a lot hide in the closet affraid of there seceret coming out Jerseygirl Jen |

the dark side
Quote:
For this same reason they use a "handle" instead of their real name. ( like Aust 1 n ) A lot of guys I've chatted with suddenly have to leave. Their wife entered the room. So I guess the theory is that T-porn is still considered a "dark side" that most don't want to be identified with. ( excuse me for ending a sentence with a preposition. I could end it with a proposition.) Last edited by franalexes; 11-10-2011 at 07:23 PM. |

I've worked as a photographer for a good portion of my life; commercial gigs, weddings, fashion, etc. The last 10 or 12 years, I've been 'retired' from the commercial side and have concentrated on doing 'fine-art' photography. A big part of that has been working with the nude figure, almost all GG (that's what galleries and collectors are after) but a few male nudes from time to time.
Many of my models choose to be anonymous, and they do so for a variety of reasons. Mostly, it's for job security. We live in a land (the US) where nude = sex = very bad. It's getting better, but we've a looong way to go. Some of the pro models I've worked with may have clauses in other contracts (a clothing line they rep as an example) that say 'no nude work - or you and this six-figure deal are done.' Others just simply don't want the hassle of being judged by others for what is a very personal decision. Why remain faceless here? The same reasons, ad nauseum. Mostly though, it's because many don't want to be 'outed' such as it is. That's pretty much why I'm faceless - and yes, that is me in my av. I'm just not ready for the world to know. That said, the people that matter in my life already know.

I WISH I could say that all the narrow minded biggots and bashers and such do not matter to me, I WISH that I could say that nobody close to me is so narrow-minded as to hate me because I like this website, but these are only my wishes. The facts are that there are still a LOT of narrow-minded and hate filled people in this world who have a lot of influence and sway over my life. I HOPE that you are not harmed by posting your face here, I really hope that nobody holds you activity here against you. But I wonder if perhaps you have taken a very grave risk in posting your face here... If the dean of the college or university you attend saw this here... are you absolutely CERTAIN they would not take action against you? What about some future employers? You say you wish to get work in "youth offenders" or "youth justice," seriously and sincerely I do HOPE you are successful in your career but tell me, do you think all of your possible future employers would not be alarmed if they knew you posted and read stuff here? *I am assuming that you are a real person and that is your real picture. I just posted this on hung angels in response to a similiarish suggestion.
Its gooood, so I've dup'ed it here. Quote:
Its a trans porn site. So for most people it's a distant fantasy. (which is all well and fine) As you know, trans has a huge perceived stigma for most cis-gendered people, whether they are attracted to trans or not. Cis-gendered people are highly unlikely to post up face pics and real names and identifiable information. They would fear this may be used by others against them. Many men are married or attached. That opens a whole new dynamic for their cis-female partner: It would most likely go to core questions about their relationship and questions about their man's actual sexual orientation. (In truth, almost certainly heterosexual. but she wouldn't see it like that ) No man is likely to risk a major part of their life for a fantasy visit here. Recently transitioned Ts women. Usually in wigs, tons of makeup and their legal documents still in their male name. How should they present themselves here, under your suggestion? Successfully transitioned Ts women in non adult-sex services employment, likewise would not post any revealing details about themselves as: 1. It blows the stealth life, they worked so hard to achieve 2. People outed as trans get murdered around the world with monotonous regularity. For kudos on a tranny fantasy site? That is no exchange at all. Successfully transitioned Ts women in adult-sex services employment, like whoring & Porn {movies/Pictures Pay sites} are here socially, sure. But a part of the reason is to expose their ?Brand? to the receptive audience on this site and similar sites. However, their working / performing names bear no resemblance to their legal names. No one transitions just to be a porno character in real life. All performers and escorts as I'm sure you know, have a totally separate life away from The Game. Their legal names are not their Working name. And most present very differently from their ultra-glam sex goddess image, when shopping for frozen peas at Tesco's.... Coz very few trans sex workers from escorts to porn actresses (and yes I accept there a a huge overlap there) intend to stay in the Job for ever. Using their real names would be a huge neon flashing light pointing to both their porn and trans past, long after they had moved on career wise and wanted to settle into the wider world as just another woman. Crossdressers/transvestites. Do they use two names, two face photos and two totally different biographies one in tranny mode the other when being a bloke? Should the proportions of both their photo's sizes and profile lengths approximately reflect the time spend weekly, in each representation of themselves? Finally, There are a lot of esmimos on this site. What you think to be blank avatars, are in fact them standing in front of their igloos in a snowstorm. Apart from that, your idea might just work! |

My avatar pic is not what I look like.
They were stolen off the net. (The pic is actually a Latvian newsreader) But then again, I only did this after Auts1n stole my photo and used it both as his avatar ....and on his security pass at the university. I don't mind except he makes me write all his course essays. Aust1n's real name is Catherine. Here is a pic taken last week during a mid-term course practical exam! Most people are missing the point. It's about more than just putting your face on here, but taking it into the outside world.
Most men I find on websites like these just want to fuck TS woman, and don't treat them like real people (sex tourists are a big example). Why can't a TS woman be treated like a person who can be a friend or lover, not just somebody who you can fuck? |

I have an uncle just like that. I don't EVER talk about it with him. He's too set in his ways. Other than that, he's actually a great guy.

Well I get what Aust1n's point was, but I also agree that he went about expressing the wrong way. And just because I too have put my real picture up on my profile doesn't mean I think everybody else should (though it would be nice :P).
But what I have noticed from avatar pix (on this site at least), that those who don't use their own picture but the picture isn't of something sexual (mainly speaking of the guys here ladies ) are definitely respectful to transgender people. Doesn't mean the ones that have avatars of porn stars or their own genitals aren't respectful. I'm just saying that most of the people who are just here for the porn generally have sex centric avatars. And usually those people don't even bother replying to a thread like this one. Mainly because there is no fap material here. For those who don't know fap is a term meaning to "rub one out". |

Of course, there are, just as there are in any other segment of society. But I cannot help but wonder what the point of this post might be, since there is no mention of "the military" in Jen's post nor in any other post in the thread.

Pics?
Seems as good a place as any to post this.
Found these while going through old stuff. I asked my wife if it would be OK to post them. After all I’ve been a member here for a long time. She had never seen them before. She liked them a lot and said go ahead. Sorry for the poor quality. These were taken with a “real” camera. You know, like one that uses film? And then scanned. No iPhone's back then! For my friends on here. Hope you like them. The first one was taken at a friend’s house in Michigan before a football game. I was our team’s Defensive Captain and starting Middle Linebacker. Also really good with computers. This picture appeared in our yearbook. My wife saw it today and said “This one looks like you were in High School.” Still have that leather jacket. Why does it look like almost 20 years ago? Maybe ‘cause it is. Tying to think of which celebrity I would have had it bad for back then. Probably Christina Aguilera. “Genie in a Bottle.” OK so how do I explain the “IU” t-shirt? My uncle went there. He was a champion diver and played football (Wide Receiver, small and fast ) he tried and tried to get me to go to IU. He took me to Nick’s and arranged for me to hang out with the football team. My dad wanted me to play at Michigan State. He was a big alumni booster. I probably could have started at either school but after we moved to Indiana decided to go to Purdue because of their reputation for engineering and computer science. I struggled as a “walk-on” but got a great education. I’ve done alright in my business and academic careers. No complaints. By the way that is Steph. If you have followed my posts you know all about her. From 2004. My “ex” and I drove across the United States. This, I believe was somewhere in New Mexico. Probably the best we ever got along. I will always have special memories of the night we spent on the beach in San Diego. I was 19 and she was 25 when we got married. Interestingly she had been a cheerleader at IU (Purdue’s main rival). My Ph.D. is from IU. A nurse and graduate of IU, she helped me out a lot when I was in grad school so I can’t really say anything bad about her (although I often do on here… other than being a psycho she was usually very sweet. ). “Dr. Andy.” Well almost… I still had a little bit left to finish. It’s called a “dissertation.” This is from when I first started teaching at the university where I am today. About 2007. Things were still pretty good between us. My “ex” really was gorgeous. I am not exaggerating. Almost on a level with some of my “crushes.” If I hadn’t been married to her and saw her picture, I’d probably post her to the “Dream Girls” thread. She had been married before. He played basketball at IU. Same thing happened with them… Last edited by a9127; 09-21-2020 at 03:23 PM. |
