Hi josh, I had the same doubt once just like you. My recommendation would be starting with a medium one, you do not want to start with a small one since, you will like what you will feel and you will want more.

I started with a 6 inch dildo, then bought another 22 inch dildo (My favorite)

1)lots of lube you can never have to much
2) if its your first time start small don't go for the 12 inch coke can thick one first

You are really better off going to a store and looking at them, You shouldn't be shy about it as these shops get newbies all the time. Even the most macho looking guy will come in and ask for help.
