Default Best "Action" TV Shows

TansJen, if that list you made was mine, I would have left "Gunsmoke" and "Have Gun Will Travel" off and put them on my Fave Western List (new thread?). We also need threads for Fave Cop/Private Eye Show, Fave Drama, Fave Variety/Music/Comedy Show, Fave Cartoon Series....

Default Rat Patrol

TransJen, having seen that "Rat Patrol" was on your list made me think of my father, who was a WWII veteran. I remember watching Rat Patrol when it originally came out in the 60's (I was a teenager) and thinking what a great show it was. My dad, who was in the Royal Canadian Air Force and stationed in North Africa (Bomber Command) told me what a ridiculous show it was. The war in the desert was not anything like what was portrayed on screen he would tell me. I still kept watching it, though.

He did, however, enjoy Hogan's Heroes...I am sure alot of Allied Veterans enjoyed seeing the Germans portrayed as buffoons.

Now, I better get busy and submit my "fave action tv shows"

Default This is hard...

It crosses into so many genres as Aries pointed out.
I'll try and stay within shows that had or have lots of action...

1. I Spy
2. The Man from UNCLE
3. Mission: Impossible
4. Kung Fu
5. The Streets of San Francisco (great car chases!)
6. Baretta
7. Starsky and Hutch
8. Charlies Angels (Sabrina was great, remember her from "The Rookies", in that little nurses uniform?!)
9. Magnum PI
10. Sons of Anarchy
11. Deadwood.......

"24" is definitely an action show. For some reason I never started watching it.
As for Hogans Heros, John Banner (the guy who played "Sgt Schultz") escaped from Nazi Germany before the war I believe. Ironic that he would end up playing lovable Schultz, the role he is best remembered for.

Default Baretta, Streets of San Fran

Violet...I was thinking of adding these as well...but they would make my Favorite Cop Show List!!

How about a "Guitly Pleasure" thread as well? I would put C.H.I.P.S. on it...it was an action series, but it was pretty bad...but I watched it!!

Default cop shows vs action shows

To me it's just splitting hairs after all most cop shows are action shows well all except C.H.I.P.S which was kinda feel good show with very little action, Perhaps westerns should have there own best of but i didn't think there was a lot of western fans here so i just added a few to my action list Jennifer
