Well CNN got my attention again with one of those "fake ads." It's pretty easy to see why...
Wonder if she also "lives in Zionsville" and was "born before 1985"? Better update my profile info ASAP--don't want her "swiping right" on one of those 80 year old men. Maybe I'll run into her at the gym tonight? |

Children's socks! Something must have definitely gotten lost in translation. I would have worn them to school for sure... The pair on the left of course.
(The site I found these on said that "BJFC" would make a great band name. Now I know what I want to do with my life. Going to buy another drum set and start practicing again this summer.) Last edited by a9127; 05-09-2018 at 01:08 PM. |

OMG!!! It's my future wife again...
She keeps showing up in those "born before 1985" ads. One even said she was "born before 1969." Check it out here: http://forum.transladyboy.com/showpo...&postcount=791 Yeah right. She looks like she was born "after 1996." Last edited by a9127; 06-19-2018 at 12:46 PM. |

Mr. Rogers flipping everyone off. Almost as good as Johnny Cash...
(This isn't what it appears to be at first glance. Yes he IS really making that gesture. But it's part of a "counting song" or something with children. If you watch the video on YouTube they start with the first finger and go from there. All the kids do it too which makes it even funnier. Can't believe he--or the censors--didn't know what it meant... ) |

CD vs. Vinyl. That was the question back in the 80's. My first CD was "...And Justice For All" by Metallica, late 1989. I had records until then. Somehow my mom and dad let me buy it. I still have my "Sony Walkman" from the 80's that only played cassettes.
This article appeared today on our local news site. The 80's baby! https://www.theindychannel.com/lifes...lbum-and-a-cd- (Who remembers the scene where Austin Powers puts a CD on a turntable? ) Last edited by a9127; 07-05-2018 at 10:57 AM. |

The best ever Led Zeppelin song was the Immigrant Song from Led Zeppelin III. The whole house would vibrate if I cranked up the volume. I may still have that album around somewhere.
Here's one version of it, although it's not the best. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8OtzJtp-EM |

As the All-Star break approaches, the Tigers suck once again (.412) but Joe Jiménez has been the team's best hope for the future. He was recently selected for his first All-Star game.
(Today they play the Astros. The Astros' starting pitcher? Justin Verlander. ) |

Looking for more "retro" stuff and found this picture of Hugh Hefner's office from 1967. Amazing. My own office looks just like that! Except I have a very powerful desktop computer instead of a typewriter (like anyone cares about that...).

For Hugh Hefner that does look quite tame. Depending what is on my monitor, my office however could be very risque.
But no wonder 1967 is known as "The Summer of Love." The first picture is Jean Shrimpton and the other two are Brigitte Bardot. From Pinterest. The title of the post was "The Death of Shame." If that's the case, you can go ahead and kill me now... Last edited by a9127; 09-21-2019 at 11:15 PM. |

Another one of those "fake ads" on CNN. This one is showing me what I'll look like when I'm 50.
(He looks to me to be in his 80's or maybe even 90's. Competing in anything at that age is awesome. But 50? Really! Ran the "age test" on him. Didn't register, but the two women with him are 24 and 27. If I can still attract "twentysomethings" at his age I'll die a happy man... ) |

The fake ads are getting better.
(Just wondering if she would be considered a "senior citizen" by their latest criteria? You know, all those "30 year olds." Also 0% Interest for what? Hell, I don't care if she's 87, I'd still "swipe right" on her.) Last edited by a9127; 09-19-2018 at 09:12 PM. |

Another one of those silly ads. What age has to do with any of this I don’t know. In fact, right below this one is another ad for the same game saying “if you are over 30.” Whatever… to me the presence of these ads (like the "born in 1985" ones featuring 80 year old men) calls into question the integrity of the entire site. You have to wonder if the news they report is any more “accurate” or “reliable”?
However “Ladgertha” is fuckin’ hot. Good thing I’m a “lefty.” That leaves my right hand free to use the mouse… to play the game... Last edited by a9127; 10-02-2018 at 03:43 PM. |

"Born Before 1985"? Christ! Better not show this one to Hayley, Miley, Dove, Taylor, or Manon. Geeeze, it looks more like "Born Before 1885"! (I tried looking it up. Google identified it as a "carving." So much for using moisturizer every morning... ) Last edited by a9127; 10-04-2018 at 12:41 PM. |

Now I'll never leave my computer. This is "Mica" the latest "digital assistant" released this week by Magic Leap.
What CNN reported: Quote:
God, I hope my wife never comes home and finds me using Mica. If I microwave a dinner and eat it in front of my computer or watch a movie on Netflix with Mica, does it count as a "date"? What if say something "inappropriate" and Mica gets pissed off at me? Will I be "terminated"? The technology sounds still somewhat "experimental" as one of the researchers mentions "a couple decades." Another says "we will populate the world." Hope I live long enough... (I can see it now. We are driving in my car. Suddenly my phone says "Andy, this is Mica. We're gonna hit the oncoming car head on if you don't get your fucking eyes back on the road!" ) Last edited by a9127; 10-13-2018 at 12:24 PM. |

Yvonne Craig first played “Batgirl” in 1967 on TV. Word is they are getting ready to make a new “Batgirl” movie. According to Variety: “They’re saying this will be based on her NEW-52 comic which sees her moving to a hip new district of Gotham for young 20 somethings, where she is a Grad-Student and works with other members of the Gotham superhero crowd.”
(I have also heard there is a rumor that she has a romance with one of her professors. The picture is really cute. Glad to hear she’s “20 something.” I was worried that I was gonna have a hard time explaining this one to the cops… Isn’t her dad the Police Commissioner? Wonder who will play her?) |

Of course if you're going to bring up Batgirl then you have to also mention Catwoman. She has been portrayed by several well known actresses on TV and in movies. Most notably by Julie Newmar in the 1960's TV series.
The "sexual tension" between Batman and Catwoman has always been a major part of the series appeal. While doing "research" I came across a comic where Batman finally proposes to her. Here are three different portrayals of Catwoman from the comics: "Holy Autoerotic Asphxiation Batman!" There always was something "dominatrix like" about her... Of course I'd ask her to marry me... |

Merry Retro Christmas Everyone!
Who says we didn't land on the moon? The fuck we didn't... Even Santa had his own "space ship." Aluminum trees! In fact everything was made of aluminum. Wonder what year this was? She's hot. Wouldn't mind spending Christmas Eve with her... Was mostly interested in the old technology. Awesome. 1950's maybe? But look closely, there is a "housekeeping set" beneath the tree. How romantic... My guess is someone's not "getting any" this Christmas... Last edited by a9127; 12-23-2018 at 02:55 PM. |

Super Bowl III, January 1969. Today many of us will gather to watch Super Bowl 53 with friends and family (especially in the United States) but if it wasn’t for this game 50 years ago we might not be.
The first two “Super Bowls” (officially called the “AFL/NFL Championship Game” were blowouts with Vince Lombardi’s Green Bay Packers beating up on the Chiefs and Raiders in 1967 and ’68. Many “experts” did not think the “upstart” AFL was at the same level as the more established NFL. It was a bold prediction from a young quarterback from Alabama named Joe Namath that would set the stage for a real showdown between his New York Jets and the heavily favored Baltimore Colts. Namath was signed in 1965 for the then record salary of $427,000. According to ESPN, Patrick Mahomes contract for 2019 may top $200 Million. At a press conference during “media week” someone in the back of the room shouted out “The Colts are going to kick your ass.” Namath responded: “Hey, I got news for you. We’re going to win Sunday, I’ll guarantee you…” The Jets won 16-7 and while many “old school” football fans thought it was a disaster, Pete Rozelle (NFL Commissioner) was quoted as saying it was “the greatest thing to happen to pro football.” Rozelle must have been right, media interest has never been higher and for this year’s game 30 seconds of advertising will cost $5 million. Known as “Broadway Joe,” Namath was a popular figure with the media and maybe the first “modern superstar” of the NFL. Known for dating popular actresses and models he also “defied convention” and made enemies by wearing his hair long and sporting white shoes while everyone else wore black “high-tops.” In 1985 he was inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In 1970, the Kansas City Chiefs would go on to defeat the Minnesota Vikings as the two leagues merged into what we now know as the “AFC and NFC.” The rest is history. Play action! Namath passing from the pocket. Emerson Boozer (32) gains yardage as Bubba Smith (78) is blocked. Smith (6’7” 285 lbs.) RIP (1945-2011) is one of the greatest defensive linemen in history. If you weren’t around back then, you would most likely know him from the “Police Academy” movies. Only 66, a possible cause of death was the “CTE” suffered during his playing career. Finally, Namath handing off to Matt Snell (41) who scored the game’s only touchdown. The other photos are of Namath “out and about.” The commercial with Farrah must have been filmed in the 70’s when she was on “Charlie's Angels.” The other pictures are talking with reporters before the game and dating Raquel Welch. It’s good to be the Quarterback. Last edited by a9127; 02-03-2019 at 12:51 PM. |

Planning a trip to see my family in Detroit over Spring Break. Doing a little research on “Detroit History.” This was “Milky” the Twin Pines Dairy Clown.
Many, many, years before my time clowns were popular on local Detroit TV. My mom said she was terrified of this one. Don’t blame her. Does he “creep you out” too? He does me. The last pic is from a psychology website. Interesting comparison… (Not that "Milky" was an evil person. Although I'm glad he wasn't my math teacher. For whatever reason, clowns have definitely taken a hit in popularity lately. But I'll make an exception for Harley Quinn. ) Last edited by a9127; 02-07-2019 at 06:37 PM. |
