Should I do Some Porn?

I did this thread because I get mail on this site and some others from gals who are thinking of doing sex work of some kind. I tell them pretty much what you all are saying:

Once it's done there are no "take backs"
You will not be able to use this on a resume
The money/fame will be brief
This has potential to affect people you love or will love
and ultimately the decision is a personal one

I posted this because, well I was actually asked to do a shoot with potential for some video work. Also because I wanted to see if my responses were that far off from what most (porn-positive) people think.

When I give this advice, often the reaction is get is a little dismissive - like I don't know really what I'm talking about, or I have some sort of hangup. It's good to know that I'm not way off on this. I'm amazed at the number of girls who think "well, I can always do sex work"...

Personally, I have no issue with porn or people who do it. It's really just not my thing - not even in the top 50 things I'd do to make money. I am really sorry if I upset anyone, but posing the question in this way, in this place helped me get a handle on the actual opinions of people who like/use porn, when someone who is not a complete stranger is the one being photographed. Again, I am very sorry I used you guys in this way.

Bionca, while I would never presume to speak for others, I cannot imagine that anyone felt "used" by you with this post. I commend you for asking, and no apology is necessary.

you don't have to be sorry for this i mean it quiet a logical thing to do i mean you probably wouldn't have gotten the same answer if you made it out that you weren't meaning it from the start.
this is something that anyone can take for future reference.

If someone does do porn for the money or for pleasure (not the most likely choice) yes it doesn't go away after that BUT if the people who know you already and after they find about the porn on their own and NOT from you. they can't really look at you with less respect because even though you did do porn those people will have found out you did porn while looking for porn itself so they can't really look at you differently for supplying them with the form of pleasure they go out of their way to look for

I'm just happy that you did already know that it is entirely a personal decsion. And I'm so glad that now we don't have to worry about you losing any respect that you worked so hard on getting. In fact I respect you even more than before for posing this very interesting question that many can come to this thread and see for themselves what people think.

The impression I'm getting Bionca, and this is not a bad one, is that you already had your mind made up whether you wanted to do this or not (which was a no), you just needed us to reinforce your opinion.

No normal people go into porn, you ruin your social life and get an eternal social stigma to handle rest of u life and put yourself into dangers of different kinds in this extremly unhealthy pornenviroment.
Once on the net its always there for ever, no chanse whatsoever to regret what u once did...

I would myself not under any circumstances even think of doing something like that.
