To say I have a thing for beautiful women and fast cars would be an understatement.

It must start when you are younger (Christie Brinkley “Vegas Vacation” 1997)

Jesus God! Sorry, don’t know what else to say…

This would most likely be the end result today. Not looking where I was going of course...

(Picture is from GMAuthority. From 2013. Accident was on 405 near Los Angeles. The driver survived with minor injuries by ducking at the last second. )

So my earliest memory of meeting a "dream girl" was Heather Thomas when I was 6. But I used to watch other shows during the late 80's and it got me wondering who my "earliest celebrity crush" would have been?

Belinda Carlisle who sang "Heaven Is a Place On Earth," a #1 hit in December 1987 may actually be the first. I was just 5. None of the "women in my life" today, including my wife were even born...

As far as TV or movie actresses go, here's one I had forgotten about. Her name is Jean Bruce Scott and was a star of the series "Airwolf." My parents (mom) allowed me to watch this because it wasn't as "violent" say as "Miami Vice."

My dad however used to watch Miami Vice up in my room with me. We never told my mom. Of course the main attractions were the White Ferrari Testarossa and all the women. Maybe that's why he watched it too?

Airwolf also starred Jan-Michael Vincent as the pilot and Ernest Borgnine as his sidekick. Sadly both have passed away. Fun fact: I saw an old episode of "Airwolf" a few years ago. It starred a young Bryan Cranston. I am a fan of course, of "Breaking Bad."

I would have liked to have Jean Bruce as my babysitter. But I would have had no choice but to behave as she probably could have beaten the crap out of me back then.

(On many of these shows the heroine would often get "tied up" or "gagged." So that's where it comes from... )

OK. One more and I've gotta get back to work.

Detective "Dori Doreau" from the TV series "Sledge Hammer" was also one of my earliest "celebrity crushes."

Played by Anne-Marie Martin, she was the very smart, cool, and confident partner to David Rasche's "Sledge Hammer" a parody of Clint Eastwood's "Dirty Harry." Even down to the .44 Magnum S&W Model 29 that he often talked to...

Too young to watch it when it was first on (1986), the series ran through 1988 or 1989. Extremely beautiful, "Dori" was an expert in martial arts and firearms, and good with computers. So is she "marriage material" or what?

That is a Commodore Amiga (I think) that's she's using. Notice the Joystick and mouse as well as the "dot matrix" printer behind her. Remember those?

Of course, in the first picture she's trying to call me about where we should go on our date. The only problem is 30+ years and that I have an iPhone now.

The last picture... Umm... What did I say about this in the post above?

(Fun facts: Anne-Marie is originally from Toronto. She was married to Michael Crichton--Andromeda Strain and Jurassic Park--I also have a book he wrote on computers and technology that my parents gave me for Christmas one year. Still have it in my office. She also raises horses and is an expert rider. Finally, she wrote the script for the movie "Twister" (1996) starring another "crush" Helen Hunt . The tornadoes scared the shit out of me. Little did I know we would eventually move to Indiana where tornadoes like that really do happen. The first "real" one I ever saw looked just like the scene where they are going down the road and release "Dorothy." It was black and came down suddenly. I thought it was awesome... )

There is also a DTMF desk phone in the background. I wouldn't have something that modern until a few years after the show first started.

I remember those phones. My dad had one in his office. There were the lighted buttons at the bottom. Never used one however. I also seem to remember "Dori" with an IBM PC looking up criminal records or something. No wonder I got into computers...

("Sledge Hammer" episodes can be found on YouTube. As an adult I "get" a lot more out of it and appreciate the humor more. It has a very strong "fan base" 30 years later. )

"Online Degrees in Zionsville" read yesterday's "fake ad" featuring an 88 year old man. I know his age because I looked him up. Guess he was "Born Before 1985"? Same as me... It was a stock image of course. There are no degrees in Zionsville. I should know because that's where I live.

Since it's not looking right now like I'm going to be a member here much longer, I thought I would leave you with this picture instead.

Another "stock image" but a much sexier one. She is what we would term a "non-traditional" student. Over 25, returning to finish her degree, raising a family, working two jobs, etc.

Of course I want to take her out to celebrate. I'm sure she got all "A's" in my classes...

Just want to let everyone know I'm still doing my part to "self quarantine."

Keeping our home cleaned is essential to fighting coronavirus. My wife however has been wondering why everyone I've hired so far is "in her early 20's, blonde, and good looking"?
