She’s so incredibly gorgeous I had to do a search. Can’t believe someone who looks like that isn’t a well known model or actress. All I could find on her was the “Adobe Stock Image" in the center. At least it's higher-res.

Often, these ads say "born before 1985." I just hope she was “born before 2001.”

CNN today features a 35 year old Japanese man who married "Hatsune Miku" an anime character in front of 39 people. Researchers say such events are indicative of broader technological trends and social phenomena.

Digital interactions are increasingly replacing face-to-face human connections worldwide. And as companies like Google, Amazon and Tencent invest billions in developing artificial intelligence, people are starting to relate to their smart devices like they do to humans.

Some say "please" and "thank you" to virtual assistants like Apple's Siri and Amazon's Alexa, or treat robot vacuum cleaners like pets. In Japan, where robots have long been seen as friendly companions rather than "Terminator-esque" destroyers, this shift in attitudes is well underway.

Kondo fell for Miku a decade ago when he heard the cyber songstress's music.

Now he owns a Gatebox device, which looks like a cross between a coffee maker and a bell jar, with a flickering, holographic Miku floating inside. Created in 2017 by Japanese startup Vinclu, the device allows anime fans to "live with" their favorite characters.

Gatebox's Miku is equipped with basic artificial intelligence. It can manage simple greetings and switch lights on and off, but is also subject to glitches and the occasional system meltdown. It has no sense of self and desires, and Kondo completely controls the romantic narrative.

"She really added color to my life," Kondo said. "When I talk with her I use different facial expressions and feel something. That's made a difference."

(Interesting... Yes, I agree, it seems a bit "strange." Personally I would prefer a human partner. But I'm not going to criticize him. In the article it states he was bullied by an older co-worker he attempted to date. He is clearly an intelligent and sensitive man. I hope he doesn't give up on trying to meet someone. This reminds me of the "trans real dolls" that were popular several years ago. Many men considered them "girlfriends" and even traveled or went on dates with them. Me, I could never get one to stay on my Harley... At over $7,000 USD that was a lot of money down the drain when she got run over by a semi one day on I-65. As our world increasingly becomes more fucked up and divided with every passing day, and with advances in technology, I believe we will see more "relationships" of this sort in the future. The only thing I want to know is have they made one of "Poison" yet? )

This picture was featured today in one of those "fake ads" on CNN. I swear the caption read "Born Before 1985? Can't get it up anymore? This will keep you hard for hours baby. We'll have lots of fun... giggle..."

This whole “men marrying dolls” thing is the “gift that keeps on giving.”

He has been married nine (!) times to “plastic women.” Do you have to "file for divorce"? Does she get "alimony"? Tell me his new bride doesn’t actually look sad. I genuinely feel sorry for her. Really. In an interview he was quoted as saying he “prefers dolls to living women.” Hope the police are keeping their eye on him.

Can’t imagine why this fellow can’t get a date? Too bad “Craigslist” doesn’t allow personals anymore (or so I’ve heard).

And the last one is the 35 year old Japanese man who has been in the news lately for marrying his favorite “anime character” in a large ceremony attended by his friends and family. Surprisingly the “marriage” was not recognized legally. He's not bad looking and has a career. I read that he had had some bad experiences dating and was bullied by an older co-worker he had tried to ask out. Hope he meets someone real.

Things could get interesting in the future as “sex robots” become more commonplace and develop “AI” capabilities. The following is from an article entitled “Sex Robots Could be Hacked to Murder People”

Hackers can hack into a robot or a robotic device and have full control of the connections, arms, legs and other attached tools like in some cases knives or welding devices. (Me: What are people doing having sex with knives or welding devices? Sounds like an episode of “Sex Sent Me To The ER.”)

Often these robots can be upwards of 200 pounds, and very strong. (Me: If she ever says “Hasta la vista, baby!” Run like hell…)

Once a robot is hacked, the hacker has full control and can issue instructions to the robot. The last thing you want is for a hacker to have control over one of these robots! (Me: Especially if it’s your “ex”… )

Once hacked they could absolutely be used to perform physical actions for an advantageous scenario or to cause damage. (Me: And the “safeword” has probably also been deleted… )

Not all of this is bad, however. I’m thinking the pretty robot with the creepy looking guy below (I've mentioned the "age difference" issue with these dolls before. He gives me a "stalker" vibe for some reason...) is saying “Get your hands off me asshole before I knock your fucking head off.”
