Well Halloween is fast approaching. “Deadpool” is still looking like a possibility. Found a very realistic “cosplay” men’s costume in my size. For $259.00 USD.
![]() Was gonna ask Taylor to be my date but she already went as Deadpool last year. Should’ve known. FYI she is friends with Blake Lively “aka” Mrs. Ryan Reynolds. Lucky guy. ![]() Hayley might want to go too. Or maybe Miley still has her Hannah Montana stuff? Hell I’d drive down to Franklin, TN.And of course, Dove as “Mal” and me as “Deadpool” would make an ideal couple. (Dove as Dove is fine with me too. ).(But I might already be “spoken for.” My 9 year old niece wants me to take her trick or treating again. Last year she went as a “zombie nurse.” )

My biggest crush from the 60's has to be Françoise Hardy. She was a popular singer, model, and actress of the time and, at least I think, one of the most beautiful women ever.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Fortunately my interest in cars and auto racing led me to watch "Grand Prix" on TV back in the 90's, more than 30 years after it was released. Otherwise I might never have learned who she was. ![]() Perhaps the best movie on racing ever made, it focused on the 1966 F1 season. Starring James Garner as the American driver, Yves Montand as the "aging" champion (he was probably in his 30's... ), Antonio Sabato as the young Ferrari driver (and Francoise's "boyfriend"), and Brian Bedford as the British driver (Based on Jim Clark? ). I have posted about the movie elsewhere on TLB.James Garner was an accomplished driver and the only one of the cast who actually did his own driving. He drove the Pace Car at the Indy 500 several times during the 70's and 80's. Sadly he passed away in 2014. The version of "Grand Prix" I saw included live commentary by Garner. Françoise transcended the era she was in. Her beauty and style would fit in very well in the 2000's unlike many of her contemporaries. One of my favorite pictures is the one of her standing on the back of the Ferrari. She looks like she could walk right into 2018 (and into my ZR-1... ). I have always thought she was about 50 years ahead of her time.

Karen Gillan. My newest “celebrity crush” and date for Halloween (as “Ruby Roundhouse”).
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() She has starred in several recent movies including “Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Jumanji,” and “Avengers: Infinity War.” She also starred in “Dr. Who” as the character Amy Pond. Karen was born in 1987 and according to “W” magazine is “five feet eleven, with flowing red hair, and an infectious Scottish accent.” She sounds perfect to me. ![]() (It’s all my wife’s fault. Really! She was watching “Jumanji” on Netflix and wanted me to come and watch it with her. I just assumed she wanted to watch “The Rock” or Nick Jonas so I wasn’t that interested. Besides I’m old enough to remember the 1995 version. When I went out to make us drinks, after I came back, she said “You looked her up didn’t you?” I couldn’t lie… )
