I guess what it would boil down to for me was who I believe the top girls in the industry are.

A "gold standard" could be a girl that always comes first to mind when you think about favourite actresses I guess...

In my case that would be Yasmin Lee.

This is good. I also think it can change over time. Especially with celebrities. God, there have been so many beautiful women on this site.

Yesterday I spent about an hour or so trying to find rankings along with data on "income," "social media followers," "website activity," "number of films," etc. to back it up. The only financial data on adult performers I could find was kind of depressing. According to this site, most don't make very much at all. Like maybe $2,000 (USD) for a typical "shoot."

Especially compared to mainstream actors, singers, and pro athletes. Beyoncé made $105 million and Justin Bieber (love him or hate him) made $84 million last year. Matt Ryan (Falcons QB) signed a contract estimated at about $30M per year. Stephen Curry and LeBron James make well over $30M plus endorsements. "The Rock" took home $65M last year. Most of this data comes from Forbes or ESPN.

Also the only "transsexual porn star" (their term) site I could find that ranked performers appeared to be subjective and had essentially the same names we've come up with in this thread. Our own "Top 10" would be just as valid.

Finally I found that a transgender actor, drag queen, artist, or other LGBT celebrity does much better if they are in the "mainstream" such as Laverne Cox ("Orange Is The New Black"), or maybe performs in Vegas, is in the fashion industry, or is RuPaul (net worth $12 million).

I like everybody we've shared in this thread. Some amazingly beautiful women. No matter which one is my "favorite" I still like them all. Hope to keep this thread going!

Yasmin Lee is a perfect example of someone who would meet a more objective 'gold standard"Where I may be a fan of her work personally, I don't think her popularity in the industry can be disputed. She even nabbed a part in a mainstream Hollywood movie, "Hangover 2". (It was fun watching that scene)

I also really appreciate the research in terms of gathering statistics!

Those are great objective measures and Andy makes the great point that a top 10 list of our own would be just as valid. I believe as far as a "gold standard"goes, what it boils down to me are who are transsexual "it girls"past and present?

During my vacation I've just been browsing the site randomly. Mostly going back and looking at posts from around 2007-2012. This post from "Mr. Grooby" I thought was excellent regarding the financial realities of the industry and also helpful to anyone who might be interested in a career as a "porn star."

Laverne is not a porn star but I agree she's very beautiful. She needs to be in my "Dream Girls" thread. Here's a few pictures of her. The "Time" cover was from 2014.

Gia Darling was featured in a large photo spread in hustler way back. For her to be featured in that rag, when no one else was for a loooong time after (if ever), that would make Gia a top contender for any gold standard.
