I find it detestable to an extent, because I find the term faggot to be highly offensive. Yet, it is also part of the niche sissy subculture. It seems that those attracted to the sissy side of trans get off to some extent in being called faggots (at least some of them do). So I guess it is similar to how some African Americans refer to each other as n******. They may not ultimately mind it, but I find it tactless and a poor choice of words.
