I've always had a thing for tall girls (prolly because I'm 2 metres tall!). I love tall and thin, and a pretty face. But really the more important thing of all is the personality. She can be drop-dead gorgeous with the personality of a fish and I'm not interested.

Definitely. I have also experienced the reverse, initially finding someone physically unattractive, and upon discovering their gorgeous personality, seeing them as incredibly physically desirable. To the extent I'll begin finding people who look like them physically attractive as well. Probably a Halo Effect-psychology working there.

Very interesting. I have experienced the same thing. Attraction is complex and involves many factors--what we desire in the "fantasy world" doesn't always translate directly to the "real world." If we hold out for some kind of artificial ideal we may end up being very lonely.

There is also the view of 'aesthetic relativism', which suggests that a good portion of our attraction is based on personal experience, learned attraction, which begs the question "can attraction be relearned?".
