Is anal sex pleasurable?

I’m glad everybody seems to enjoy being on the receiving end of an anal relation! That’s personally to my liking. Some testimonies here shows how incredibly pleasurable it can be indeed. I myself have had repeated confirmations of such pleasure in being able to give it. I’m particularly fascinated by the capacity to obtain orgasms solely from anal penetration. I wish we could get more explanations from those of you who have such a potential. Please, feel free to detail what precisely triggers it, what technique, in which position, etc. (Melissa, give us more details, please! explain to us! You’re usually so articulated.)

Then again, I know many people just can’t do it. I know personally a few strictly gay men who would like to, but just can’t seem to find any pleasure in it. One of them is actually only interested in rubbing and sucking and wants nothing to do with anal.

You’re right though, most every one of you: it takes a lot of care, you need to start slowly and prepare adequately, use generously of a water based lube. You also need to be clean and absolutely have to find a way to relax appropriately. I have found that a good, very hot bath is excellent for that purpose, and long preliminaries including well given oral sex. You might also want to start preparing yourself on your own, with progressively bigger and bigger dildos, in order to accustom the anal sphincter to penetration. Even better to do this as a couple in the form of a game.

This being said, I’m still far from convinced it is something for everyone. There’s a matter of temperament first, of course, but there might just be some physical impediment for some people, an insufficiently supple anus, for instance. I think it’s important to point that out in order to reassure some of those reading these posts that have tried and just can’t seem to enjoy it. They should know there’s nothing wrong with that either.

In any case, the very act of physical investigation is wonderful and there’s no limit to what we can discover from our sexuality. It’s as much a part of who we are as the intellect is, for instance, or the taste. It deserves every bit as much exploration.
