It's St Patrick's Day !

Somewhere around the world it is already St. Patrick's Day.
So I'm bumping this thread. For the next twenty hours this forum belongs to me. Not because I'm Fran, or because I'm TS, but I'm part Irish. If you are part Irish then it's yours too.
So enjoy this site and enjoy others on the forum. Like the moderators; if you can't find someone to play with, go play with yourself.

The only Irish I have in me is a regular intake of Jameson's. I hope that counts.

I'm neither Irish nor part Irish. I am 100% Canadian. I do have ancestors that were Irish, but that was a few to several generations back. No one in my ancestry was Catholic after the 1600s. My family never did celebrate March 17th. July 12th however, is a different story.

While on vacation in Rome , I noticed a marble column in St. Peter's with a golden telephone on it. As a young priest passed by, I asked who the telephone was for. The priest told me it was a direct line to heaven, and if I'd like to call, it would be a thousand dollars. I was amazed, but declined the offer.

Throughout Italy , I kept seeing the same golden telephone on a marble column. At each, I asked about it and the answer was always the same: It was a direct line to heaven and I could call for a thousand dollars.

Then -
I finished my tour in Ireland .. I decided to attend Mass at a local village church. When I walked in the door I noticed the golden telephone. Underneath it there was a sign stating: "DIRECT LINE TO HEAVEN: 25 cents." "Father," I said, "I have been all over Italy and in all the cathedrals I visited, I've seen telephones exactly like this one. But the price is always a thousand dollars. Why is it that this one is only 25 cents?"

The priest smiled and said, ?Darlin', you're in Ireland now. It's a local call."

I've been in many a bar in Southie. I've been carried out of a bar in Southie. I've been in a fight over "the troubles" in a bar in Southie. And I've helped throw a guy out who had the nerve to ask for Bushmills.
