Such arrogance to title a post "lets set the record straight" and then proceed to determine for others what they will be called. This member completely misses the point. We are not making up new titles. The many thoughtful posts on this site that discuss what the member says are "just different words" (implying that they are not particularly important) are all anchored by a common theme: that people have the right to self-determine their gender identity. We also know, from some of our own trans members, that their is a strong aversion (granted, not complete) to the wordy "tranny" outside of the porn world. And we know from some our Asian members who prefer to be called ladyboys that they do not like the word "shemale."

Yes, words matter, joeygetsits, as I am sure you would agree if someone went around referring to you in a way that undercut the very way that you personally see yourself.

You are correct, most despise the word Shemale and Tranny. But, what is funny is that a certain portion of the Transgender's, especially the ones I know, they use the term tranny, like black people use the "N" word. It's OK to call each other tranny, or they will refer to someone as a "hot tranny mess" which as you can imagine, isn't a good thing. LMAO
