Like you, I view them as women. I also agree that it is insulting for them to be called men, as that is something that they are not.

I have tried, and I have seen Ila do this as well(others may have, but I may have just missed their post(s) ), to let members know this when they place quotation marks around the word woman or if they call genetic girls real girls. They are all real girls.

That being said, the threads you've mentioned have been here for a while now and they are certainly the minority with regards to the topic threads here. I don't think they necessarily hurt the forum by being here.

My feelings exactly! It's nice to see someone here who shares similar views. I consider myself exclusively heterosexual. And I love tgirls. I have posted extensively on this topic so it will not be too hard find what I've written. I have also tried to point out (as have Ila and Shadows and a few others) many times (seemingly to no avail) that trans women are women--to view them otherwise is insulting to them and their admirers.

This "misgendering" drives me crazy--I can only imagine how it must feel to a trans woman to read some of the posts on here. I also don't like the term "shemale" or "tranny." I never would have referred to my wife or any of my girlfriends as anything less than a woman and I don't understand why derogatory language must be used here. I have begun to make real friends in the trans community and the likelihood of my meeting someone special will only increase. I had hoped maybe to meet someone on here but that doesn't seem likely.

I am also appalled at the violence directed toward trans women and have taken a public stand against it. It is cowardly, sick, and absolutely disgusting and is one of the things that really piss me off. My colleagues and students know about my activities in support of transgender issues and I will continue to be active in the Indianapolis community. Someone suggested I teach a "self defense" class for trans women. I am also talking to our student activities committee about having the play "TransActions" performed at my university.

I believe another term for it is Ungendering.Either way, it is not a nice thing to do at all.
