Back Up Everything
That is exactly why I have all my pics/vids stored on my own custom built server that I backup EVERY DAY along with my regular work.
You can buy 2tb easy to run systems now that automatically back up your computer on a daily business. My work computer has 1.5TB of hard drives for work and 1TB for my "ART COLLECTION" DVDs and Cds do not last years and years but the new class of hard drives will last at least 5 years if you keep them in a computer with good cooling fans.
