it's a Good thing!
If you love him, embrace this part of him, and you will not regret it. Rejecting it or insisting that he suppress it may very well lead him to stray away. It's unlikely his desires will just pass.
I speak from personal experience. My wife has never enjoyed sex as much as she has since my own transgendered self expression.
