In the debt thread it seems people are angry at the way government is working so its probably a good time to start a thread on what type of government people would want. Maybe exchange ideas and such. Or maybe we could just abolish the current structure and start from scratch.
My thoughts will come later. |

Look no further than the US Constitution. Unfortunately it seems that since the days of Woodrow Wilson and FDR, those we put in charge have been wiping their ass with the Constitution.

A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government.
Thomas Jefferson Sounds good to me. ![]()

I believe in direct democracy. I believe that there should be representation, but I believe representatives should be instantly recalled if they make a decision that there constituents do not like. So the people would get together and decide stuff and the delegate would make it happen. Not much different in structure than we have now, just far different ways of doing the governing.
The economic structure would be like a syndicalist structure. Unions of workers would control the resources with delegates being held accountable to the workers. Every industry would have tiers of delegation and the technology we have now would allow for fast information travel. Workers would be paid according to hours and production. If you are fucking off, you shouldn't get paid the same as somebody who's putting in hard work. Like the above, workers would make decisions and delegates would act on it. If you wanted fine points and such I suggest you read these books. Political economy of participatory economics by Michael Albert After the revolution by Diego Abad De Santillan I don't agree with everything, but they shaped they shaped my views a lot along with Mikhail Bakunin. |

Thanks to the Supreme Court's ruling today, you will have a candidate who believes in Pro-Life and $6/gal gas, or a candidate who believes in Pro-Choice and $6/gal gas. You get to choose either one.
