| Should we start a memorial thread?

I was just checking out "Turkish Shemales" in the freebies area, and read that another girl, "Cindy" had passed away. (no idea how recently) Off the top of my head I can think of at least two more girls, Anna Alexandre and Camilla Castro who also have died. I am wondering if we should start a memorial thread or something. Any thoughts? |

No, seriously, if we have personal friends who died, I guess we can share it, as I shared it when my Keke died recently. And I got a very loving and kind respons from here. But to "institutionalize" in a memorial thread form the death of transsexuals??? Maybe your idea is good, it just strikes me as a little weird... But then again why not, if its purpose can be to cast light over some of the unfair reasons why the death rate among trans*women seems to be sadly higher than among other folks. What do you think? H

The point of the program is stated very clearly on its homepage (quote): You want to change the world. We want to help. Google Earth Outreach gives non-profits and public benefit organizations the knowledge and resources they need to visualize their cause and tell their story in Google Earth & Maps to the hundreds of millions of people who use them. http://earth.google.com/outreach/index.html The bottom line: this project makes good business sense for Google. They get to push Google Earth as a desktop application, so more people will adopt it and it can become THE mapping standard online...meanwhile people who have a particular cause to promote get an fanciful outlet to make their case. Plus, it makes gathering information more interactive, which means you stand a better chance of holding a person's interest long enough for them to actually LEARN something. So, all in all, I think this is a good thing since it serves a "greater good" in the end. Quote:
Personally, I think the strongest way to often make a case is to show people just HOW MUCH something is occurring, so it can't be denied. Quote:

I was thinking it might seem a little wierd, But since there are several posts like that already here in different threads, I guess my thought was to perhaps put them together in one place, and have a spot for similar posts in the future. It was only a thought... Last edited by violet lightning; 05-26-2009 at 06:19 PM. |
