Yes, trying to get your head around ANYTHING can be a bitch...and I think it shows he likess you even more because of his actions...that sounds stupid, but if he's acting out it's coz he's really into you and is trying to sort it out in his head, otherwise he'd just give ya the cold shoulder, be more straight with you.
Take it easy, have a chat and ride this as long as it will go. He may not be the one, he may be...just do right by yourself. <3
