Remember, some people say if you tell me so and so, I wouldn't do this, that and the other. Then, they do just that. This area hinges on past relationship memories of how other people have reacted to him in any and all other situations. It's an extremely complex issue, and not some simple A-B-C thing. EXAMPLE: he could be holding back due to a relationship w/ a demanding parent from years ago.
