Yes. Perhaps.

Of course I was only trying to show “school spirit.”

Besides right now they are our best hope for a Championship.
But it would only be “creepy” if I showed up for a date with Blake

wearing one of those “mascot heads.”

(I was looking at all my memorabilia. I own next to nothing with “Purdue Pete” on it. Except for the shot glasses with the “old” Pete. And they were a gift. Most things feature the “P” logo. The only stuff I have out in my home office is my old helmet, some “Rose Bowl” items, and a “fidget spinner” on my desk. The black helmet I received from my wife for my birthday last year is in my company’s office. The helmet I received this year sits on a bookshelf at our home.
Now, for once, I will be very serious. The other Purdue “logo” you will see is the train.
Why a train? There is a tragic story behind it. On Halloween, 1903, 17 members of Purdue’s football team were killed when the train they were riding to Indianapolis collided with a freight train. The site of the accident is near where Methodist Hospital is located today. A few years later, the “Memorial Gym” was built and dedicated. The train was a special “charter” carrying the team, students, and faculty. Hence the name “Boilermaker Special.”
According to what I have heard, the train, not “Pete” is actually the "official" mascot.)
