Failed restaurant chains. Another “fake” news story from CNN because many are still around.

“Burger Chef.” Murder is not good for business. This chain got its start in Indiana. In 1978 a Burger Chef near the Indianapolis Motor Speedway was robbed and the four young people working that night were taken to a rural area and killed “execution style.” Over 40 years later the crime remains unsolved. The building is still there, I used to drive by it on my way downtown. It’s a “fast cash” place or something now. But everyone around here knows the real story…

“Big Boy.” These are still around in the Detroit area. Michigan has 69 franchises even today. When I was a little kid my mom would always ask if I wanted to eat there. Fuck no. Looks like an “evil clown” on steroids, he still creeps me out (Crazy eyes and smirk. First thing I think is he's a pedo—imagine you are 5 years old and you know he’s watching you sleep…). Worse than Ronald McDonald IMHO.

“Chi-Chi’s.” Started in 1975, peaked in the late 90’s, early 2000’s. Lot’s of ‘em around Detroit. Sad to see it go as it was the first restaurant I ever took a girl out on a “real date.” Her dad drove us. When I was several years older it was a great place to get cheap margaritas and hang out with friends. The one on 38th street in Indy is still there. It’s a “Golden Corral” now. Bad part of town. Last time I was there we watched the drug deals going down in the parking lot.
