Gwendolyn Ann Smith, in a column in The Bay Area Reporter, has taken on the pronoun issue that I mention at the beginning of the quoted post. It is a fine piece of writing and worthy of a read:

Smith's arguments are cogent and compelling. And as she concludes: "In short, Lea T. is not a she who is also a he. She is, quite simply, a she."
