Tim Thomas won the Vezina Trophy. In reporting this in today's
Boston Globe, the reporter closed the article with some sports humor from Jay Mohr, who emceed the trophy event. I particularly like the Lebron James reference.
Comedian Jay Mohr, emcee of the event, called out Vancouver residents for rioting in the wake of the Canucks’ Game 7 defeat to the Bruins.
“What an un-Canadian way to behave,’’ said Mohr.
Mohr added that Vancouver forward Alex Burrows, who in Game 1 of the Cup Final bit Patrice Bergeron’s right index finger, “is a very hungry person ... and the Boston Bruins are delicious.’’
Also, acknowledging the retirement of Bruins winger Mark Recchi, Mohr said, “Mark Recchi retired after the Finals ... unlike LeBron James, who retired right before the [NBA] Finals. Let’s pile on.’’
