What gets me about the Vancouver rioting, in addition to agreeing completely with ila, is the stupidity of random violence. I mean, if you really want to express a violent reaction to the Canucks and the result of the series, why not storm Rogers Arena, drag Luongo out, and string him up from a tree in the park that has the statue of Lord Stanley? I'm not advocating such action, but at least it would make some sense in a hockey context.
I'm about to post a really touching article about real hockey fans in Vancouver that appeared in today's Boston Globe.

They should stick Luongo in front of a large net and have all the disgruntled fans shoot pucks at him. It's not like any of them would hit him anyhow, as he would let them all by.
