The news organizations in the US are mostly pathetic what with Fox News and their psycho newspeople and CNN and their ridiculous use of Twitter, Facebook, News Roulette, etc etc. It's quite embarrassing. And I don't see how they would air meaningful information regarding the financial troubles. This is what you get with corporate media. The people responsible for all these things are never held responsible because all that precious ad revenue would dry up.
