Here I got to agree, that chemical castration is a great way to try out before committing to the "real thing". The only disappointment you're likely to experience is the cock size. because it won't be very tiny, even if you have no more balls for quite some years. Yes, your cock will shrink a bit, but only by a relatively small amount, but if you should use testosterone HRT, there won't be much shrinkage at all.
